Obituary

Wilma Mae Tolle of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Thursday morning, March 1, 2012, in the Sterling House in Ponca City, Oklahoma, at the age of 93 years.

Wilma Mae Tolle was born on November 20, 1918, in Lamont, Oklahoma, to William and Emma Mae (Moody) Landis. She grew up in Lamont graduating from Lamont High School in 1936. Following her education she worked several jobs in Blackwell and Ponca City. She married Bud Tolle on August 18, 1940, in Lamont, Oklahoma, and they settled on a farm southwest of Blackwell where she served her family as a homemaker. In 1949 they moved to a farm west of Blackwell. She was a member of the Nardin United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church in Blackwell. She was active in the Kay County Extension Club serving as president. She was also active in the Northwest District Extension Club and the State Extension Club serving as state vice-president. She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Blackwell Ladies Golf Association serving as president.

She is survived by three daughters, Jackie Boyd and husband D.W. of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Jeanie Smith and husband Harmon of Birdeye, Arkansas, and Kayleen Miller and husband Fred of Menlo Park, California; a sister, Leona Crosslin of Tyler, Texas; a brother, Rex Landis and wife Carolyn of Boerne, Texas; six grandchildren, Gina Chapman and husband Rob of Burlingame, California, Mark Simmons of San Jose, California, J. Harmon Smith and wife Keeli of Birdeye, Arkansas, Martin Smith and wife Kara of Birdeye, Arkansas, Bex Boyd and wife Elizabeth of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Blaine Boyd of South Hamilton, Massachusetts; and eight great grandchildren, Hattie and Charlie Chapman of Burlingame, California, Chloe Smith of Birdeye, Arkansas, Whit, Stella and August Smith of Birdeye, Arkansas, and Tolin and Keating Boyd of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a brother, Elvin Landis.

Services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m., Monday, March 5th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with grandson, Blaine Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Nardin, Oklahoma.

Casketbearers will be Mark Simmons, Gina Chapman, J. Harmon Smith, Martin Smith, Bex Boyd, Blaine Boyd and Rob Chapman.
