Wilma Dean Milligan of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died Saturday morning, August 15, 2009, in the Ponca City Regional Medical Center at the age of 64 years.
Wilma Dean Milligan was born on February 18, 1945, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Edward and Myrtle (Grimes) McDaniel. She grew up in Ponca City attending Ponca City Public Schools graduating from Ponca City High School in 1962. Following her education she began working at Tim's in Ponca City. She married Max Roy Milligan on January 20, 1964, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, and they settled in Ponca City. In 1969 they moved to Tonkawa where she served her family as a homemaker. In 1985 she began working for the Tonkawa Foundry where she worked for two years. In April of 2008 they returned to Ponca City to make their home. She enjoyed fishing, camping and family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Max Milligan of Ponca City, Oklahoma; two daughters, Kathy Durbin of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, and Rebecca Combs of Ponca City, Oklahoma; four sons, Robert Milligan of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, Floyd Milligan of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, Bobby Milligan of Newkirk, Oklahoma, and Gary Milligan of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Marie Johnson of Dallas, Texas, and Betsy of Edmond, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Eddie and David McDaniel.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 20th in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, with the Rev. Matt Smith of Immanuel Baptist Church in Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
