Wilma Ilene Dale of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died early Monday morning, May 12, 2008, in the Bass Medical Center in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 81 years.

Wilma Ilene Dale was born on November 15, 1926, in Wellington, Kansas, to Fred and Katie (Franklin) Warnholz. The family lived in Caldwell, Kansas, Pond Creek and Oklahoma City before moving to Blackwell in 1934. She attended Blackwell Public Schools graduating from Blackwell High School in 1944. Following her education she worked for the Chitter Chat Stationary, owned by Vassar Dyer, and the Blackwell Retail Association. She married John R. Dale on March 10, 1946, in Caldwell, Kansas. She was active as a leader in Camp Fire Girls and as a den mother in Cub Scouts. She was also active in P.T.A. and other school activities. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. She taught Sunday School in the children's department for many years. She was a devoted mother, wife and homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, John Dale of Blackwell; two daughters, Vicki Bonner and husband Ronnie of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Krista Castle and husband Greg of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four sons, Fred Dale and wife Judy of Plano, Texas, Greg Dale and wife Jacque of Mayfield, Kentucky, Doug Dale and wife Patricia of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Bruce Dale of Blackwell; ten grandchildren, Melanie Prescott and husband James of Allen, Texas, Laura Dale of Dallas, Texas, Michael Dale and wife Amanda of Phoenix, Arizona, Katie Jones and husband Josh of Lewisville, Texas, John Bonner of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Stephen Bonner and wife Melissa of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Emilee Garrett and husband Kevin of Memphis, Tennessee, Erin Walters of Mayfield, Kentucky, Brandon Dale of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Olivia Castle of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and four great grandchildren, Autumn and Ian Walters of Mayfield, Kentucky, Nolan Prescott of Allen, Texas, and Dallas Jones of Lewisville, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 15th in the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Larry Adkisson of Blackwell and the Rev. Russell Bracy of Ft. Worth, Texas, officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery under the direction of Roberts and Son Funeral Home.

Casketbearers will be Michael Dale, Stephen Bonner, John Bonner, Brandon Dale, James Prescott, Kevin Garrett and Josh Jones. Honorary casketbearers will be the Friendship Sunday School Class.

There will be family visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
