William Gene "Bill" Boyd formerly of Blackwell went to be with Jesus on July 24, 2011, at the Waynoka Nursing Center in Waynoka, Oklahoma.
William Gene "Bill" Boyd was born July 26, 1962 in Houston, Texas to Walter Emmett and Rosemary (Boyer) Boyd. Bill attended grade schools in Arkansas City, Kansas, Newkirk, Oklahoma, and Blackwell, Oklahoma. He received his GED while living in McAlester, Oklahoma. Bill traveled around the United States extensively; mostly hitch hiking from place to place, seeing the country. He was never long in one place, sharing most of his formative years in Newkirk with his sisters, aunt and grandmother. Bill led an interesting and eventful life. He formed many friendships and touched many lives in his short journey here.
He dearly loved his nieces and nephews, being "Uncie Bill" made him happy. He enjoyed river fishing and camping on any river bank. His care takers at the nursing home dearly loved Bill. His "stories" and jokes kept them laughing. He loved his family and his friends with his whole heart.
Bill is survived by his two sisters, Rose Ann and husband Ron Kliewer of Enid, Oklahoma, and Mary Katherine "Kathy" Sixkiller of Blackwell, Oklahoma; and by his nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He will be missed greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel, with James W. Roberts officiating.
