Willa Maxine Hoover of Braman, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, December 7, 2010, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital at the age of 80 years.
Willa Maxine Hoover was born on December 18, 1929, in Braman, Oklahoma, to Elmer Bunker and Ethyl Bell (Arthurs) Spencer. She grew up in Braman attending Braman Public Schools graduating in 1947. She married Robert Eugene Brown on May 14, 1947, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, and they settled in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where she attended college to study accounting. Following the completion of her certificate, she worked in a department store before becoming an administrative assistant for over fifteen years for the Superintendent of Schools in Idaho Falls. She later married C. P. Hoover on June 30, 1982, in Idaho Falls and they settled in various states and countries where his job as a petroleum engineer took them. Following his retirement they settled in Bowie, Arizona. He preceded her in death in 2002 and she returned to Braman to make her home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in South Haven, Kansas. She enjoyed reading, sewing and taking hikes through the Arizona countryside.
She is survived by a son, Dennis Brown and wife Sue of Kootenai, Idaho; two daughters, Sherry Coward of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Jeanie Delaney of South Haven, Kansas; a step-son, Larry Brown and wife Shari of Blackwell, Oklahoma; a step-daughter, Carrol Belair and husband Jerry of Blackwell, Oklahoma; a brother, Delmer Spencer and wife Gladys of Braman, Oklahoma; two sisters, Carol Brown of Bentonville, Arkansas, and DeLaine Rupe and husband Darrel of Claremore, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Burdiss Spencer; and two sisters, JoAnn Walcher and Delores Adams.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 10th in the First Baptist Church in South Haven with the Rev. Kerry Hervey officiating. Burial will follow in the Braman Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Shane Stenquist, Matthew Stenquist, Erick Stenquist, Emily Stenquist and Tyler Spencer.
