Wesley Wayne Warren of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Wednesday evening, February 24, 2010, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital in Blackwell at the age of 49 years.
Wesley Wayne Warren was born on February 16, 1961, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Cecil Albert and Joyce Elaine (Goodale) Warren. He grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools and Pioneer Area Vo-Tech in Ponca City. Following his education he worked as a carpenter for Ed Urban, Ronnie Walker and Barry Briggs. He also worked in the oilfield for Boyd Oilfield Construction and as a contract carpenter on various jobs in the area. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and Oklahoma football, gardening and collecting caps.
He is survived by his parents, Cecil and Joyce Warren of Weslaco, Texas; a daughter, Elizabeth Groneweg and husband Eric of Kearney, Nebraska; a sister, Shari Worth and Eric of Ponca City, Oklahoma; nieces, Alexa Jernigan and husband Lorane of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Tawney Worth and Corey of Arkansas City, Kansas; and great nephews and nieces, Emily, Brookelynn, Riley, Noah and Payten.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Dora Goodale and Willie Warren; and his brother-in-law, Travis Worth.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2010, in the Immanuel Baptist Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Andy Jobe of Riverview Baptist Church in Bixby, Oklahoma, officiating.
A memorial has been established with the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for cancer research in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
