Verle Wayne Wooderson was born on June 28, 1962, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Verle and Phyllis (Tackett) Wooderson. He grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell and Braman Public Schools graduating from Blackwell High School in 1980. He then furthered his education by attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater receiving a bachelor's degree. He later attended the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma. He married Christa Ford in 1989 in Blackwell and they settled in Dallas, Texas, where he worked as a financial planner. He later worked as a model for the Gregory Agency in Wichita, Kansas. He was an accomplished pianist and studied music throughout his life. He was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed physical fitness and music, especially the piano.
He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Wooderson of Blackwell; his sister, Janelle Skaggs of Blackwell; and two nephews, Sean Skaggs and friend Jennifer of Blackwell and Devin Skaggs of Blackwell. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents, Lawrence and Laura Wooderson and Earl and Velma Tackett.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 1st, in the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Larry Adkisson officiating.
A memorial has been established at the First United Methodist Church Music Department in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
