Warren Dale Combs of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died on Friday, April 1, 2011, at his residence in Blackwell at the age of 64 years.
Warren Dale Combs was born on August 22, 1946, in Winfield, Kansas, to Jack and Violet Marie (Bowker) Combs. He grew up Winfield, Kansas, Stillwater and Blackwell, Oklahoma, attending Blackwell Middle School and Blackwell High School. Following his education he entered the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War from December 15, 1964, to February 28, 1969. He then transferred to the United States Navy serving until November 6, 1970. After his discharge he moved to Kansas where he began working for Cessna Aviation. While working for Cessna he met and married Vicki Stuteville in 1976 and in 1982 they divorced, after which he returned to Blackwell. He also worked for Boeing International, Leer Jet Corporation and Tech Aerospace in Wellington, Kansas, retiring in 2008. He enjoyed mowing neighborhood yards, bowling, fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his fiancé, Stacy Scrimsher of Blackwell, Oklahoma; a son, Josh Stuteville and wife Theresa of Commerce City, Colorado; a daughter, Jessica Lux and husband Sean of Blackwell, Oklahoma; and eight grandchildren, Bridget, Haley, Dawson, Charlie, Emma, Josh, Nicole and Elizabeth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Gladys Combs; two daughters, Jennifer Stuteville and Nicole Stuteville; and a sister, Janie McConnell.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April, 6th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Bookout of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
