Obituary

Wanda Mae Ebert of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Thursday morning, August 8, 2013, at her home in Blackwell at the age of 87 years.

Wanda Mae Ebert was born on July 28, 1926, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Charles and Madge (Bond) Self. She grew up near Henryetta, Oklahoma, and attended Rural School 32. Following her education she worked as a nurse in Stillwater and Tulsa, Oklahoma, for several years. She married Joe Merle Ebert on October 10, 1983, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and they settled in Blackwell to make their home. Together they owned and operated The Ranch House and Windjammer Club in Blackwell for seventeen years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Ebert of Blackwell; three daughters, Theresa Kocian of Houston, Texas, Glenda Teel of Dallas, Texas, and Kathi Dunham of Longview, Texas; six sons, Joe Jones of Jacksonville, Florida, Mike Puett of Blackwell, Jack Vickers of Missouri, Jon Ebert of California, Joe Ebert Jr. of Medford, Oklahoma, and Richard Ebert of Blackwell; a brother, Manuel Self of Perry, Oklahoma; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mary Kathryn Jones; a son, Charles Reid; and a brother and two sisters.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 12th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with the Rev. Jeff Koch of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Joe Jones, Joe Ebert, Jon Ebert and Richard Ebert.
