Treacel Mae Shook of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday morning, December 4, 2011, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home, Blackwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 86.
Treacel Mae Shook was born on March 7, 1925 in Cabot, Arkansas, to Robert Lee House and Issie Mae Louis. She married Earl Martin Shook on December 3, 1945, in Winfield, Kansas. She was a homemaker and a mother. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and going to church. She also enjoyed playing her guitar and singing with her family. She attended the House of Prayer in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She worked with Associated Charities in Blackwell, Oklahoma until she was 80 years old.
Treacel is survived by her husband Earl Martin Shook of Blackwell, Oklahoma; one daughter; Doris Newland and husband John of Waurika, Oklahoma; two sons; Rodney Shook and his wife Donna of Coweta, Oklahoma and Clifford Shook and wife Marie of Fairfax, Oklahoma; two sisters, Ellenora and Alice; two brothers; Kenneth and R.C.; fourteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Shirley Smithson, a sister and two brothers.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at the Roberts and Son Funeral Chapel, Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Rev. Louis Bernard, Full Gospel Assembly, Fairfax, Oklahoma, officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery in Ponca City.
Casketbearers will be Steven Newland, Richard Shook, Mike Shook, Duane Shook, Brian Shook and John Newland.
