Obituary

Tom "Tommy" Ray Shouse of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Saturday evening, August 16, 2008, in the Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 57 years.

Tom "Tommy" Ray Shouse was born on October 1, 1950, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Orville and Helen Shouse. He attended Blackwell Public Schools graduating in 1969. Following his education he worked for the Turvey Packing Company in Blackwell before working in the oilfields until ill health forced his retirement. He enjoyed play competitive pool winning many trophies. He also enjoyed playing snooker and card games with his friends. He shared an immense love of hunting, fishing and searching for various Indian artifacts. He was also an avid Oklahoma Sooner fan.

He is survived by his children, Quinton Shouse and wife Jamie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Shannon Ferguson and husband Barry of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Cyndal Shouse of Enid, Oklahoma; his mother, Helen Shouse of Blackwell; brothers and sisters, Barbara Burns of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Charlotte Zachary of Blackwell, Bill Shouse and his wife Patsy of Boise, Idaho, and Orville Lee Shouse and wife Linda of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Shouse and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clinton; and brothers-in-law, Rex Burns and Raymond Zachary.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 20th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt Smith of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. At his request cremation will take place following the service.

Serving as casketbearers will be nephews, Kevin Ware, Jon Burns, Jeff Shouse, Brad Shouse, Donny Shouse, Tom Ware and Richard Ware. Honorary casketbearers will be Monty Anderson, Richard Looper, Don Newman, Rick Campbell, and Phillip Looper.

Following the service the family will visit with friends at the V. F. W. in Blackwell.
