Tommy Harold Johns of Blackwell, Oklahoma died December 22, 2009 at his home at the age of 60 years of age.
Tommy Harold Johns was born on July 14, 1949 in Anthony, Kansas to Wayne and Mary (Brolin) Johns. He grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Schools graduating in 1969. He then furthered his education by attending Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa for one year. He entered the United States Navy serving during Vietnam from 1975-1979. Following his discharge he moved to California where he worked for National Semi Conductor for twenty-one years. He then began driving for Swift Trucking until 1998 when he retired and moved to Blackwell to make his home. He married Sue Anthony on August 30, 2002 in Blackwell where they continued making their home.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Johns of Blackwell; one Son, Kevin Johns of Washington; Daughter, Misty Coffman of Missouri; Brother, Jerry W. Johns and wife Sylvia of Ponca City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Rick Johns.
Graveside services are set for 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 28th in the Blackwell Cemetery with James W. Roberts of Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Don Wellman, Chuck Mitchell, Jim Anthony and Bob Anthony.
A memorial has been established at the Hospice of North Central Oklahoma c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
