Obituary

Thomas Gail Coltharp of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Monday morning, October 24, 2011, in the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 60.

Thomas "Tommy" Gail Colthrap was born on March 23, 1951, in Chanute, Kansas, to Darrell C. Coltharp and Clara P. Robison. His family moved from Chanute to Blackwell at a young age. He attended Blackwell Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1970. When Tommy was young, he enjoyed playing golf, tennis and other activities with his best friend Robert Overbey. He loved to bowl and won several trophies. He liked all sports and watching his nieces and nephews playing them. Watching old movies was one of his favorite hobbies. Most importantly he loved watching his Oklahoma University Sooners playing football and baseball. He was employed at Fey's IGA for 12 years and Sonic Drive in for 23 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Blackwell, Oklahoma.

Tommy is survived by his mother, Clara P. Coltharp of Blackwell, Oklahoma; three sisters, Connie Hemple and husband Jerry of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Alice Vandermeer and husband Ricky of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Sandra Brown and husband Royce of Edmond, Oklahoma; one brother, Gary Coltharp and wife Diana of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and 9 nieces and nephews.

Tommy was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2011, at the First Christian Church, Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Rev. Jeff Koch, First Christian Church, Blackwell, Oklahoma, officiating. Burial will follow at the Blackwell, Cemetery.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Dr. Lisa Vandermeer Kahle, Karen Brown Bradley and Aric Randal Dean.

Casketbearers will be Dr. Alan Russell Dean, Jr., Adam Robert Dean, Terry Jay Coltharp, Tracy Lee Coltharp, Eric Wade Vandermeer and Bradley Allen Brown.

A memorial has been established with the Blackwell Regional Hospital c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 West Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
