Thelma Louise Dunkerson of Newkirk, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the Ponca City Nursing Home in Ponca City at the age of 80 years.
Thelma Louise Dunkerson was born on October 26, 1932, in Fanshaw, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Arthor and Arlie (Dudley) Dunkerson. She grew up in Fanshaw, Oklahoma, attending Fanshaw Public Schools. She later moved to Eagle Nest, New Mexico, where she attended Eagle Nest Public Schools. Following her education she received her Certified Medical Assistant Nursing Certificate and began working as a nurse for 23 years. She attended The Nazarene Church in Worland, Wyoming. She later moved to Newkirk, Oklahoma, where she attended the Nazarene Church in Newkirk, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Kay Ornsbey of Newkirk, Oklahoma, Darlene Macauffie of Newkirk, Oklahoma, and Shirley Rode of Newkirk, Oklahoma; two sons, Jimmy Dale Ornsbey and wife Lynn, and Floyd Lee Ornsbey and wife Pat both ofThermopolis, Wyoming; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Jean Upton of Norman, Arkansas, and Carol Lavonne Jordan of Seminole, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Bobby; her infant daughters, Pamela and Carolyn; three brothers, Ray Leon Dunkerson, Carl Eugene Dunkerson and Author Earl Dunkerson; three sisters, Deanna Dunkerson, Norma Ann Gose and Elois Laverne Gregory; and one grandson, Robert Leroy Ornsbey.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Lions Park in Newkirk, Oklahoma, with Rev. Tom Howard of Hospice of North Central Oklahoma officiating.
