Obituary

Terry Lynn LaBlue of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Wednesday morning, October 8, 2008, in the Enid Senior Care Center in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 46 years.

Terry Lynn LaBlue was born on October 24, 1961, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Jimmie C. and Glenda Pauline (Casebeer) LaBlue. He grew up in Sacramento, California, until the age of thirteen when he moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma, to be with his father. He attended Ponca City Public Schools graduating from Ponca City High School in 1979. Following his education he began working for Oklahoma Natural Gas Company, which later became ONEOK, for twenty-seven years until ill health forced his retirement. He married Nita Landreth on July 26, 2003, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and they settled in Blackwell. He attended the First Christian Church in Blackwell. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing bingo, but the love of his life was playing golf. He was a member of the Blackwell Men's Golf Association.

He is survived by his wife, Nita LaBlue of Blackwell, Oklahoma; a son, Terry "Gooch" LaBlue Jr. and wife Mindi of Ponca City, Oklahoma; a step-daughter, Kim Koehn and husband Randy of Moore, Oklahoma; his father, Jim LaBlue and wife Darlene of Blackwell, Oklahoma; his mother, Glenda Wootton of Phoenix, Arizona; his grandmother, Lillie Spaulding of Blackwell, Oklahoma; a sister, Tami Chanslor of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Corey Upton of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jimmie LaBlue Jr. and wife Stacy of Ponca City, Oklahoma; a grandson, Drake Koehn of Moore, Oklahoma; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Norvel LaBlue and Willis and Eulinna CAsebeer; and a brother, Brian LaBlue.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 11th in the First Christian Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Eric Dittman of the First Presbyterian Church in Blackwell and the Rev. Mark Serviss of Christian Life Church in Tonkawa officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Brent LaBlue, Eddie Brown, Robert Caskey, Pat Lessert, Roger Vaughn and Jim Belair.

A memorial has been established with the Blackwell Men's Golf Association in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
