Sarah Florine Turner, 83, a longtime resident of Blackwell, Oklahoma died Monday, May 6, 2013 in Wichita, Kansas.
She was born September 10, 1929 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to George Thomas and Erma Ada Sanders. On June 26, 1944 she married James Ogletha Turner in Wellington, Kansas. She was a homemaker and loving caregiver to her family and friends. She was a member of the Blackwell Tabernacle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; three sons, Ogletha Dewayne, James Robert, and George Edward; two sisters, Reva Frazier and Baby Sanders; grandchildren, Lora Turner and Derrick Turner; great-granddaughter, Dawnya Turner.
Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Danny Turner and wife, Joyce Kay of Joplin, Missouri; three daughters, Joetta Wood and husband, Larry, Joyce Matthews and husband, David all of Blackwell and Judy Turner and Mark Stohr of West Virginia; two brothers, Doyle Sanders and wife, Charlotte of Nebraska and Tom Sanders of Blackwell; nineteen grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Tabernacle in Blackwell. Interment will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery. Services under the direction of Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
Casketbearers will be Mike Turner, Juston Turner, Danny Turner Jr., George Samples, Robert Wood, Dewayne Wood, Walter Wood, David Matthews, Marek Settle and Chase Gregson. Honorary casketbearers will be Darren Clonts, Justin McGuire, Wally Garcia and Anthony Mikeska.
Memorial Donations can be made in her name to the Tabernacle in care of the funeral home.
