Samuel H. Turvey III formerly of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday morning, March 11, 2008, at the Midwest City Regional Hospital in Midwest City, Oklahoma, at the age of 57 years.

Samuel H. Turvey III was born on June 30, 1950, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He was the son of Samuel H. Turvey Jr., and Betty Turvey. Sam grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools and graduating from Blackwell High School in 1968. He then went on to further his education at the University of Oklahoma. After his education he moved to California where he spent several years before recently moving to Del City, Oklahoma. Sam was a multi-talented person who excelled in photography. He enjoyed gardening and was a hard worker. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his son, Stephen Turvey of Arizona; three sisters, Toni York of Edmond, Oklahoma, Anilee McNamara of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Laurel Altendorf of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and two brothers, David and Eric Turvey

Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2008, the Blackwell Cemetery with Rev. Eric Dittman of the First Presbyterian Church in Blackwell, Oklahoma, officiating. Under the direction of Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
