Ruth B. Dean was born on November 11, 1911, in Wichita, Kansas, to Anthony and Eva (Hawks) Ford. As a small girl she moved with her family to Hunnewell, Kansas, where she grew up in the Hunnewell – Braman area and attended Braman Public Schools. She married William F. Dean on December 24, 1927, in Wellington, Kansas, and they settled in Blackwell. She served her family as a homemaker and worked as a cook at Paul's Grill in Blackwell. In 1950 they moved to a farm north of Braman where they lived until 1974 when they moved into Braman to make their home. He preceded her in death in 1977 and she continued to make Braman her home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Braman.
She is survived by her son, Bill Dean of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and eleven great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Ford; two sisters, Thelma Murphy and Geraldine Couts; and two grandchildren, David Dean and Patricia Steele.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 27th, in the Braman Cemetery in Braman, Oklahoma, with the Rev. Matt Smith of Immanuel Baptist Church in Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Braman Cemetery.
