Rodger Craig Peetoom formerly of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday morning June 1, 2008, at his residence in Ponca City, Oklahoma at the age of 52 years.

Rodger Craig Peetoom was born on October 27, 1955, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Clifford and Erma (Campbell) Peetoom. He attended school at the Opportunity Center in Ponca City, Oklahoma, for many years and was employed at the Opportunity Center working at the time of his death. He lived at the Naomi Welch residence in Ponca City. He loved his personal family however his extended family of the Opportunity Center Staff and the Naomi Welch caregivers had a very special place in his heart. He enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching Dukes of Hazzard, bowling, dancing, and attending the Special Olympics. He is survived by two brothers, Robert Peetoom and wife Cathy of Nardin, Oklahoma, and Richard and wife Marilyn of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four nephews, Ryan Peetoom and wife Kim of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Travis Peetoom and wife Marie of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Trent Peetoom and wife Erin of Rogers, Arkansas, and Austin Peetoom and wife Karen of Clermont, Florida; seven great nieces and great nephews; and other aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Rev. Michael Moers officiating, burial will follow at the Blackwell Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be; Ryan Peetoom, Travis Peetoom, Trent Peetoom, Sam Ashford, Jim Irwin, and Max Ruggs.

Honorary Casketbearers will be; Richard Ashford, Ed Urban, Larry Shields, Elmer Ewy, Max Kincheloe, Gene Holcomb, and the caregivers of the Naomi Welch Residence.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Land of Opportunity Village, Ponca City, Oklahoma, or the First Baptist Church kitchen fund, Blackwell, Oklahoma.
