Obituary

Robert Eugene "Bob" Love of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died early Sunday morning, December 6, 2009, at his home in Blackwell at the age of 70 years.

Robert Eugene "Bob" Love was born on January 12, 1939, in Vinita, Oklahoma, to Orville and Mary (Penny) Love. As a young boy he moved with his family to Illinois. In 1949 they moved to Marland, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Marland High School. While in high school he participated in basketball and was named All-Conference his senior year. In 1970 he moved to Blackwell and owned and operated the Daylight Donut Shop. He married Ginger in 1981 in Blackwell and he continued to operate the bakery until his retirement in 2000. He enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and hunting for treasure.

He is survived by two sons, Kevin Chandler of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Mark Chandler of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; four sisters, Vicki Case of Woodward, Oklahoma, Nadine Evans of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Charlene Robinson of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Twila Jones of Georgia; and a granddaughter, Lindsay Spears of Clute, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Melvin Love.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 10, 2009, in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Tom Howard of Hospice of North Central Oklahoma officiating.

Honorary casketbearers will be Gerald Howard, David Haney, Homer Cain and the coffee crew of Daylight Donuts.
