Richard Loyd "Rick" Nutt of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Monday, January 6, 2014, in the Ponca City Medical Center at the age of 57 years.
Richard Loyd "Rick" Nutt was born on December 6, 1956, in Blackwell to Clifford Loyd and Mary Louise (Jamieson) Nutt. He grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1975. He married Denise R. Brewer on July 29, 1976, in Blackwell and they settled in Blackwell where he worked for D. and W. Dozer. He later worked for Jeffries Tank Truck Service before working as a carpenter until ill health forced his retirement. He was a member of the Gateway House of Prayer in Arkansas City, Kansas. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but his passion was growing vegetables in the garden.
He is survived by his wife Denise Nutt of Blackwell; a daughter, Megan Rawlings and husband Wil of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a son, Eric Nutt and wife Kaylynn of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; a sister, Lesa Nutt of Blackwell; and four grandchildren, Rachel and Ali Nutt of Tahlequah, and Liam and Lily Jean Rawlings of Tulsa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 8th in the Blackwell Cemetery with Rev. Sandy Newman and Rev. DeeAnn Ward of Gateway House of Prayer officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in his honor with Habitat for Humanity in Ponca City in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74361.
