Ray Lee Jeffries of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Wednesday morning, December 14, 2011, at his home in rural Blackwell at the age of 57 years.

Ray Lee Jeffries was born on January 15, 1954, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Neal Ray and Virginia Lee (Seacat) Jeffries. He grew up in Blackwell and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1972. Following his education he worked for the Blackwell Zinc Company for a year. In 1973 he began working for Dinsmore Construction in Enid, Oklahoma, and worked there until 1975 when he started his own business, Jeffries Waterproofing in Blackwell. He enjoyed horses, horseback riding and joking with his family and friends.

He is survived by companion, Carla Knight of Blackwell; a daughter, Tammy Lee Wagnon of Blackwell; his mother, Virginia Jeffries of Blackwell; a sister, Vickie Gillespie and husband Robert of Blackwell; a brother, Pete Jeffries and companion Zenie of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Brittany Wagnon of Clarksville, Arkansas, and Heather Wagnon of Pryor, Oklahoma; two nieces, Jenny Belair and husband Scott of Enid, Oklahoma, and Staci Jeffries of Ponca City; two nephews, Robert Gillespie and fiancé Wanda of Gainesville, Florida, and Travis Gillespie and wife Becky of Ponca City; and fourteen great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and step-father, Roy Northcutt.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Rev. George Brock of Cushing, Oklahoma officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Nardin, Oklahoma.

A memorial fund has been established in is honor with the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for heart disease or cancer research in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
