She married Fred Lucas on March 7, 1961, in Blackwell, where they made their home. In 1976, she began working for Blackwell Public Schools – retiring in 2008. Following her retirement, they traveled and spent time with their grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking and would regularly volunteer for both the Hospital and for the American Red Cross. She loved her church family and was very active in the Blackwell Church of Christ. Following Fred’s passing on September 17, 2014, she continued to make Blackwell her home.
