Obituary

Pearl Grace Harrold of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday evening, December 2, 2008, in the Westminster Village in Ponca City, Oklahoma, at the age of 79 years.

Pearl Grace Harrold was born on August 8, 1929, in Collinsville, Oklahoma, to George Perry and Albina Pearl (Stiles) Hawkins. She grew up in Collinsville graduating from Collinsville High School in 1947. Following her education she married Bob Winston Harrold on August 23, 1947, in Collinsville and they settled there for a short time. In 1948 they moved to Blackwell to make their home and she served her family as a homemaker. Following an oilfield accident to her husband, she dedicated her life to caring for him from 1975 until his death on June 25, 2003. Following his death she continued to make Blackwell her home until April of 2008 when she moved to Ponca City. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Blackwell. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, sewing and her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and was well known for her homemade bread.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda McCord and husband Tim of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; three sons, Gary Harrold and wife Barbara of Lubbock, Texas, Tom Harrold and wife Jeannie of Oologah, Oklahoma, and Rick Harrold and wife Marquetta of Blackwell, Oklahoma; a brother, William Fred Hawkins and wife Dorothy of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Robert Harrold and wife Amanda of Houston, Texas, Kristen Benson and husband Maj. Garrett Benson of Quantico, Virginia, Jonathan Harrold and wife Lisa of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Megan Harrold of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brock Harrold of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Elizabeth McCord of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Trenton McCord and wife Sara of Liberty, Missouri, Suzannah McCord of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Robin Harrold of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Josh Harrold and wife Alee of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Lara Van Bibber of Lubbock, Texas; and great grandchildren, Brice and Alyssa Van Bibber of Lubbock, Texas, Austin and Adrienne Harrold of Deer Creek, Oklahoma, Taylor and Allyson Longcrier of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Stephen and Samuel Benson of Quantico, Virginia.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Walter and Perry Hawkins; and five sisters, June Murphy, Twila Kennedy, Wilma Stephens, Faye McAfee, and Georgia Crittenden.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 6th in the Blackwell Cemetery with the Rev. Bill McKissick of the First Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Honorary casketbearers will be Alyce Kohler, Robert Harrold, Josh Harrold, Trenton McCord, Jonathan Harrold, Brock Harrold and Maj. Garrett Benson.

A memorial has been established with the First Assembly of God Church in Blackwell or to Image Hospice in Blackwell in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
