Obituary

Pearl Pauline Crittenden was born on April 11, 1920, in Greenburg, Kansas, to Oliver and Cora (Taylor) Selby. As a small girl she moved with her family to Braman, Oklahoma, where she grew up and attended Braman Public Schools graduating in 1938. She then furthered her education by attending St. Francis Nursing School in Wichita, Kansas, where she became a registered nurse. She married Elmer Crittenden on July 9, 1942, in Blackwell. She worked as a registered nurse at Blackwell General Hospital and in 1957 she became a nurse at the Osler Clinic and worked there until her retirement in 1988. Her husband preceded her in death. She later moved to Ft. Gibson to make her home. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Braman. She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, traveling and her family.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Sandborn of Arkansas City, Kansas; two sons, Dennis Crittenden of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma, and Danny Crittenden of Salina, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenneth Selvy; five sisters, Faye, Ruth, Lois, Lilli and Margaret; and a grandson, Brent Crittenden.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 28th, in the Braman Cemetery in Braman, Oklahoma.
