Pauline Epperly of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Friday, June 21, 2013, at her residence in Blackwell surrounded by her husband and her five children after a five year battle with cancer at the age of 66 years.
Pauline Epperly was born on August 28, 1946, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Paul and Goldie (Shackelford) Chaney. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools. She married Robert "Bob" Epperly on February 8, 1964, in Blackwell and they made their home in Blackwell, they would of celebrated fifty years of marriage on their next anniversary. During their lives together they also lived in Wichita and El Dorado, Kansas, and Ponca City before returning to Blackwell. She served her family as a homemaker and loved the Lord. She entertained many with her singing at various venues including the Billings Fairchild Center, Mike's Gospel Jubilee and various churches in the area. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church but was also affiliated with Christ's Church and the House of Prayer. She enjoyed spending time with her family at multiple cookouts, dinners, holidays and parties. She baked her traditional pumpkin bread every Christmas and made sure no one left without a loaf. She also enjoyed going to thrift stores and yard sales. She was active in her church and had been a Sunday School teacher and song leader for many years. She also volunteered often at the church, whether cleaning, baking, or working the fair booth. She devoted a lot of time caring for her mother until her passing in 1994.
She was survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Epperly of Blackwell; three sons, Bobby Epperly and wife Monica of Blackwell, Dennis Epperly and wife Leveda of Tonkawa, and Kevin Epperly and wife Lisa of Blackwell; two daughters, Christina Kleinschmidt and husband Michael of Ponca City, and Jennifer Brandt of Blackwell; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Yager of Blackwell, and Irene Gillham of Deer Creek, Oklahoma, and one brother Cedric Chaney of Enid, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Pastor David Lyons of Enid, Oklahoma, officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be her sons, Bobby Epperly, Dennis Epperly, Kevin Epperly, and Michael Kleinschmidt.
Serving as honorary casketbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
