Paul Ernest Love of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Friday morning, September 12, 2008, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital at the age of 76 years.
Paul Ernest Love was born on February 6, 1932, on the family farm southwest of Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Earnest Michael and Beatrice Amanda (Taylor) Love. He grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public School. While in school he moved to Arizona before returning to Blackwell where he completed his education. Following his education he moved to Wichita, Kansas, where he worked in highline construction. He later returned to Blackwell and married Gayle Evelyn Rixse on June 14, 1957, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, and they settled in Wichita, Kansas. In 1959 they moved to Blackwell and he commuted to Wichita to work. He later began working for B and H Trucking before working at the Acme Foundry for twelve years. He then began working for the C.F.M. Corporation where he worked for twenty-five years retiring in 1997. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Blackwell. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, traveling and helping around the church.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle Love of Blackwell, Oklahoma; his son, Jeff Love of Blackwell, Oklahoma; two brothers, George Love of McCune, Kansas, and Kenneth Love of Blackwell, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Mike, Mark, Taylor, Brad, Matthew, Ricky, Nicki and Dusty; and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, David Love.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 16th in the First Christian Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Jeff Koch officiating. Burial will follow in the Longwood Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Honorary casketbearers will be Chester Pope, Brad Love, Matthew Love, Frank Dyer, Dustin Love and Larry Cannon. Serving as casketbearers will be Andy Angle, Terry Grace, Jerry Hemple, Hubert Clonts, Mike Love and Mark Love.
A memorial has been established with the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation – Cancer Research, 825 N. E. 13th Street, Oklahoma City, 73104.
