Patricia Lou Willis of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died early Tuesday morning, February 10, 2009, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell at the age of 78 years.
Patricia Lou Willis was born on February 13, 1930, in Shidler, Oklahoma, to Clarence Elmer and Flora Belle (Ford) Woodward. She grew up in Newkirk, Oklahoma, before moving with her family to Ponca City, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Ponca City High School in 1949. She married James David Willis on July 29, 1949, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, and they settled in Blackwell where she served her family as a homemaker. She also sold Avon products in Blackwell for many years. Her husband preceded her in death on March 4, 1997, and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Blackwell. She also held membership in the Rebekka's Lodge and served as a Blackwell Hospital volunteer.
She is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Krebbs of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Brenda Osburn of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; a son, David Willis of Corona, California; two sisters, Ellen Thornton of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Betty Brown of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a brother, Leon Woodward of Blackwell, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great grandchild; and six step-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Elmer Gene Woodward.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 13th in the Blackwell Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Koch of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Hospice of North Central Oklahoma and the First Christian Church in Blackwell in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
