Patricia Gail (Gough) Gregory of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Thursday night October 18, 2012, at the Blackwell Regional Hospital in Blackwell, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years.
Patricia Gail (Gough) Gregory was born on May 24, 1939, in Santa Monica, California. She was the daughter of William R. and Gail (Brenner) Gough. They lived in California until she was in first grade when the family moved back to Blackwell where she completed her education graduating from Blackwell High School in 1958. She married and had her first two children. Her husband was in the Navy so she lived in Texas and California before moving to Ponca City. She re-married and had two more children. They moved to the Oklahoma City area in 1963. She and her husband owned and operated several eating establishments during the next sixteen years. They moved to Indiana for a short time before returning to Blackwell in 1980. They owned and operated "The Place" on North Main for several years. Her health caused her to retire from working in the early 1990s. She was an avid sports fan during her life and followed her children's activities. She was known as "Grandma Pat" to all her grandchildren's friends as she was their biggest fan! Even though her disease caused her lots of trials and tribulations over the past twenty some years she never let it stop her from being independent! Her positive attitude was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She always believed that with Christ on her side she would be ok! That true Christian belief brought her through many tough times. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Blackwell, Oklahoma, and The American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, Danny Avra and wife, Alberta of Cache, Oklahoma, and Perry Avra and wife Darla of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; two daughters, Phyllis Rowe and husband Troy of Blackwell, and Paula Hess of Blackwell; one sister, Billie DeBoard and husband Lennie of Blackwell; two bothers-in-law, Steve Larimer of Ponca City, and Bobby Chambers of Spokane, Washington; eleven grandchildren, Phylisha Kimbrel and husband Jeremy, Desi Hankla and husband Brian, Kristi Metzger, Todd Hess and wife Annie, Tracy Avra and wife Lori, Tyler Rowe and wife Randa, Tabitha Hess, Derick Rowe, Stacy Rowe, Aaron Avra, and Ethan Avra; and fourteen great grandchildren.
