Obituary
Myrtle Helen (Hitzman) Colwell of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Saturday evening, April 23, 2011 in the Blackwell Regional Hospital in Blackwell at the age of 88 years.
Myrtle Helen Colwell was born on January 1, 1923, in Chicago, Illinois, to Fred and Antonia Hitzman. She married Cletis Colwell on May 1, 1943 in Los Angeles, California, and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2008. She enjoyed her dogs and animals. The neighborhood children liked to go to Myrtle's house because she always had candy and drinks for them. She also liked chocolate of any kind, including brownies, cookies and milk shakes. She was a member of the Blackwell Church of Christ.
Myrtle is survived by six nephews, Gail Moore, Fred Munson, Melvin Kimbrough, Max Kimbrough, Warren Moore and Boyd Moore; and five nieces, Pat Reistroffer, Carol Kimbrough, Betty Morgan, Glenda Knowles and Donna Hood.
Myrtle was also preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Pearl Skip Munson.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Blackwell Cemetery in Blackwell with Lanny Jobe with the Blackwell Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the Blackwell Church of Christ in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
