Meredith Sue Truhlar was born on April 6, 1946, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Francis Marion and Gladys Eva (Ruby) Baker. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools graduating from Blackwell High School in 1964. She then furthered her education by attending Ponca City Beauty College where she received her beautician's license. Following her certification she owned and operated Fashion Flair Beauty Salon in Blackwell. She married James Charlie Truhlar on January 30, 1969, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and they settled in Medford where she continued working as a beautician. Following the birth of her daughter she served her family as a full-time homemaker. Her husband preceded her in death on June 28, 2008, and she continued to make Medford her home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Medford. She enjoyed writing and journalism.

She is survived by her daughter, Kara Rachelle Hall of Agra, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Pat Judd and Dixie Baker.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 30th in the Renfro Czech Cemetery near Medford with the Rev. Bob Smith of the Medford First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Renfro Czech Cemetery.

A memorial has been established with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Oklahoma  in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.

Because of road construction, directions to the cemetery are as follows: Go west of Highway 11 to Numa Road; go north five miles and then west two miles on Wakita Road; go one mile south and then one mile west to arrive at the cemetery.
