Merble Odean Bellin of Deer Creek, Oklahoma, died Sunday morning, October 9, 2022, in the Wakita Community Health Center in Wakita, Oklahoma, at the age of 96 years.

Merble Odean Bellin was born on February 22, 1926, on the family farm northwest of Deer Creek to Edward Otto and Gladys Clarica (Patterson) Bellin. He attended Bluff Center Rural School before graduating from Deer Creek High School in 1944. Following his education, he entered the United States Navy where he served for two years, aboard the U.S.S. Magoffin as a Coxswain. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Grant County and continued with the family farming operation. In 1946, he purchased his own farm adjacent to his parents. He also worked as a carpenter and sprigging waterways for county farmers. He was also a member of the Grant County Sheriff's Reserve for twenty-five years. On New Year's Eve of 1946, he met Carol Jean Clark, and they were married on November 20, 1947, in Deer Creek. He was a member of the Nardin United Methodist Church. His wife preceded him in death on July 10, 2020.

He is survived by a daughter, Tammie Warren and husband Kevin of Hallsville, Texas; a son, LuGene Bellin of Wakita; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a niece and a nephew.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Dean Bellin; a sister, Zelda and husband, Dee Aldrich; and three grandsons, Shane, Vernis, and Justin.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 14 ^th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff McReynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Caldwell Cemetery with military rites performed by the United States Navy.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 12 ^th from 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. and on Thursday, October 13 ^th from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
