Max Allen Nichols was born on September 16, 1937, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He was the son of Brent Allen and Nancy Mae (Lafferty) Nichols. He grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools. He then went to work for Blagden's Body Shop while working for Blagden's Body Shop he joined the United States National Guard for five years. He later went to work for the Acme Foundry, Electron, and the Tonkawa Foundry retiring from The Tonkawa Foundry. He was a member of the First Church of God in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He enjoyed hunting.
He was survived by one brother, Russell Nichols of Blackwell, Oklahoma; and two sisters, Betty Neal of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Mary Ward of Blackwell, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Humble, and Sue Sheffield; and one brother, Tommy Nichols.
Services are scheduled for Friday, May 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services at the Blackwell Cemetery, with Rev. Doyle Fortney of the First Church of God in Blackwell officiating, burial will follow at the Blackwell Cemetery.
A memorial has been established at the First Church of God in Blackwell in memory of Max Nichols.
