Obituary

Max Duane Kincheloe of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Saturday evening, January 2, 2010, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital at the age of 70 years.

Max Duane Kincheloe was born on January 15, 1939, in Anthony, Kansas, to J. V. and Gertrude Irene (Bishop) Kincheloe. At the age of seven he moved with his family to Blackwell where he grew up attending Blackwell Public Schools. He was a member of the class of 1959 and enjoyed many homecoming reunions with his classmates. Following his education he entered the United States Army serving six months of active duty and five and a half years of reserve duty with the 95th Division of the Army Reserves. In 1960 he began working for the City of Blackwell and managed the Memorial Swimming Pool. He married Nanci E. Elledge on July 23, 1969, in Perry, Oklahoma, and they settled in Blackwell. In 1974 he worked for the Electron Corporation as a charge crane operator and worked there until the plant closed in 2002. He was very active in his son's athletic activities, coaching baseball and attending every event. He loved classic cars and held membership in the Streeters Car Club of Blackwell for several years. Max also held membership in the First Presbyterian Church of Blackwell, Elk's Lodge #1347, Chikaskia Masonic Lodge #109, he was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of Akdar Shrine.

He is survived by his wife, Nanci Kincheloe of Blackwell, Oklahoma; two sons, Jay Clark Kincheloe and Carol of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Josh David Kincheloe and Charline of Blackwell, Oklahoma; a brother, Jim Kincheloe and Karen of Blackwell, Oklahoma; uncles, Dean Bishop of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Richard Bishop of Wichita, Kansas; an aunt, Faye Dunlop of California; and grandchildren, Courtney Michelle, Mason Clark and Jordan Nathaniel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Jo Smith; and two brothers, Bob and Clyde Keeble.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 6th in the First Presbyterian Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Eric Dittman of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Serving as casketbearers will be Kevin Bunn, Jerry Berry, Leland Owens, Robert Peetoom, Ed Urban and Fred Lucas. Honorary casketbearers will be John and Pam Campbell, Marion Wright, Terry Evans, Del Bumgardner, Cathy Peetoom, Denise Bunn, Laurie Urban, Connie Berry and Shirley Davis.
