Max Fry II of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away at his home in Blackwell on Saturday, November 01, 2008 at the age of 83 years.
Max Fry II local businessman and two term mayor of Blackwell, Oklahoma, (1966-1972), and former director of First National Bank of Blackwell. Max was born on August 20, 1925, in Braman, Oklahoma. He was the son of Max and Jennie May (Shurtz) Fry. He served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II, while serving in the Marine Corp he married Bea Horn on September 14, 1944, in Tacoma, Washington. After his discharge for the Marine Corp they made their home in Blackwell where he was longtime owner of Fry Seed and Fertilizer and Fry Woodworks. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wayman Fry formerly of Blackwell; and one sister, Toncha Holland of Salina, Kansas.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bea Fry of the home; one son, Steve Fry and wife Nan of Blackwell, Oklahoma; two daughters, Leanna Kingham and husband Cricket of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Dee Holmes and husband Steve of Yukon, Oklahoma; one sister, Maxine Kirkham of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
