Maurice LeLand Meade of Bethany, Oklahoma, died February 1, 2019, in the Heritage Park Nursing Home in Bethany at the age of 78 years.

Maurice Leland Meade was born on March 31, 1940, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to LeLand Andrew and Thelma Eliza (Allbaugh) Meade. He grew up in Blackwell graduating with the Class of 1958. Following his education he began his farming operation on the family farm west of Blackwell. He married Carol Chrisenberry in 1968, in New York City and they settled in Blackwell where he continued his farming operation until 1986 when he retired. He then began working in the transportation industry driving a truck throughout the country.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports, especially football.

He is survived by a son, Wiley Meade of Liberty, Missouri; and a sister, Joan Wilbur of Mountain Home, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services were held on Monday, February 4 ^th in the Blackwell Cemetery.
