Mary Rose Roundtree was born on March 18, 1939, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, to Joe and Inez (Standridge) Norton. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools graduating from Blackwell High School. She then attended Northern Oklahoma Junior College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, for one year. She married Kenneth Roundtree on July 23, 1955, in Cromwell, Oklahoma, and they settled in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She worked in the nursing field and restaurant business. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, LEA, LAPM and attended the First Assembly of God Church in Blackwell. She enjoyed needlepoint, painting and baking.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Roundtree of Blackwell, Oklahoma; three sons, Kenny Roundtree and wife LaDonna of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Tommy Roundtree of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Nolan Roundtree and Rebecca Ramey of Blackwell, Oklahoma; a daughter, Susan Gideon and husband Mike of Ponca City, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Sean and Jennifer Ingram of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Joshua and Tisha Ingram of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Cory Ingram of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Brandi Roundtree of Blackwell, Oklahoma, William Roundtree of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Mandy and Charles Lamb of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Dessa Ewing of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Russell Redding of Blackwell, Oklahoma; ten great grandchildren; Maison, Cameron, Montana, Bailee, Aydun, Taime, Jacob, Jamie, Raven, Dallas and Riely all of Blackwell, Oklahoma; three sisters, Carolyn Johnson of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Diane Holland of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Elta Weigle of Moore, Oklahoma; and one brother, Bill Norton of Baldwin City, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one daughter, Jenice Robinson.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 24th, in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill McKissick officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Mark Johnson, Rick Barrows, David Ingram, LeRoy Fields, Rick Mathis and Russell Redding.
