Mary Louise Nutt of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Friday, June 18, 2010, at her daughter's home in Blackwell at the age of 78 years.
Mary Louise Nutt was born on January 5, 1932, on a farm southeast of Deer Creek, Oklahoma, to Homer Harry and Blanche Margaret (Grimsley) Jamieson. She grew up on the farm and attended Deer Creek High School graduating in 1949. She married Clifford Loyd Nutt on December 23, 1949, in Deer Creek and they settled in Blackwell where she worked at Linker Drug Store. She later worked for the Hazel-Atlas Glass Plant, Blackwell General Hospital, Equity Insurance Company and Jack Mason Insurance Agency. Her husband preceded her in death on December 23, 1998, and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Blackwell. She also held membership in the Hearts and Pieces Quilt Guild of Blackwell and the P. M. Pieces Quilt Guild in Ponca City. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing, quilting and cooking and baking.
She is survived by her daughter, Lesa Nutt of Blackwell, Oklahoma; her son, Rick Nutt and wife Denise of Blackwell, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Eric Nutt and wife Kaylynn of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Megan Rawlings and husband Wil of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three great grandchildren, Rachel and Ali Nutt of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Liam Rawlings of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five sisters, Fran Michael and husband Paul of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Willa Mae Matthews of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Thelma Peterson and husband Bill of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Esther Mayfield and husband Bob of Stigler, Oklahoma, and Darlene Kastanek and husband Oscar of Kolin, Louisiana; two brothers, Dennis Jamieson of Lyman, Wyoming, and Darrell Jamieson of Deer Creek, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Ralph Matthews of Deer Creek, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 23rd in the First Free Will Baptist Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Kevin Bookout officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Nardin, Oklahoma.
Casketbearers will be Larry Laughlin, Jack Bookout, Rod Michael, Greg Michael, David Matthews and Gene Grace.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for cancer research in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
