Mary Markoleta Mitchell of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday morning, March 23, 2010, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital at the age of 39 years.

Mary Markoleta Mitchell was born on February 18, 1971, in Wellington, Kansas, to Leroy and Joyce Elaine (McCleary) Guatney. As a young girl she moved with her family to Braman, Oklahoma, where she grew up and graduated from Braman High School in 1990. She also attended Pioneer Area Vo-Tech in Ponca City where she studied child development. She married Mark Allen Mitchell on December 9, 1989, in Blackwell and they settled in Blackwell where she served her family as a homemaker. She later worked as an Avon representative as well as working for the Blackwell Public Schools. She was a member of Bethesda Blackwell Church where she taught Sunday School and worked as the church secretary. She enjoyed flower gardening, lake activities and her various pets. She also had a special interest in learning the Spanish language.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Mitchell of Blackwell, Oklahoma; her daughter, Jennifer Mitchell of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and her two sons, Bryan and Jared Mitchell of Blackwell, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her mother, and grandparents, Glenn and Markoleta McCleary.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 26th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with the Rev. Jackie Crafton of Fairland Assembly of God officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Ponca City.

Honorary casketbearers will be Mike and Doyla Schoonover, Allen and Susie Sharp, John and Diane West, Aaron McRae and Eric McRae. Serving as casketbearers will be Matt McCleary, Mark McRae, Josh McCleary, Chad McCleary, Shane McCleary and Chris McRae.

A memorial has been established in her honor with the Bethesda Blackwell Church Youth Group in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631
