Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Kelley was born March 10, 1926 to Simon Hubbard and Sarah Pathkiller in Proctor, Oklahoma.  She attended school at Proctor through the 8 th grade.  She attended Westville High School through the tenth grade.  She enjoyed playing basketball.   She had to forego her education in the tenth grade to go to work.

At age 16 she went to live with her brother, Simon, and wife, Mildred, in Wichita, Kansas and worked for Boeing on the B29 "Super Fortress" bomber.  She was an official "Rosie the riveter".   She worked there for approximately a year and then moved to Richmond, California where she lived with her brother, Leonard, and wife, Frances.   While living in Richmond, she worked in the Kaiser shipyards  as a Class A welder.

After World War II ended, she returned to Proctor, where she married Millard Kelley on July 22, 1946.  They were married almost 69 years.  They lived in Hannah, Wyoming and Westwood, California before moving to Blackwell in 1948. Mary worked at the Hazel-Atlas Glass plant and was working the night the tornado destroyed the plant on May 25, 1955.

Mary became a Christian and was baptized in 1956.  She was faithful to her church, God, and her family.  She sang in a trio with several different groups within the church and on their daily radio broadcast.  She taught Sunday School for approximately 55 years.  She treasured those years of sharing the Word of God and mentoring young adults to become stronger Christians.  She continued witnessing the love of God daily until she passed this life.  She influenced many people's lives and will be missed by many.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Otis, Floyd, Leonard, and Earnest; and a sister, Emma.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol Wyatt and husband Bruce of Catoosa; two sons, Roger Kelley and wife Cindy, of Owasso, and Dennis Kelley of Catoosa; five grandchildren,  Kasey Kelley of Owasso, Brian Wyatt and wife Tabitha of Catoosa, Jeremy Wyatt and wife Kristen of Grain Valley, Missouri, Sarah Hayes and husband Chris of Claremore, Brenda Newcomb and husband Tony of Verdigris; and four step grandchildren,  Rhonda Wyatt, Randy Wyatt, Reneica Groover, and Relinda Pruett.  She left a legacy for all the family, nieces and nephews, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.
