Mark Grell of Braman, Oklahoma, died early Thursday morning, August 30, 2012, at his home at the age of 55 years.

Mark Kelle Grell was born on September 3, 1956, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Ivan Leon and Eva Nell (Kelle) Grell. He grew up on a farm south of Braman and attended Braman Public Schools where he graduated in 1974. He furthered his education by attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater where he graduated with a bachelor degree in 1978 in animal science. He married Terrie Lynne Burris on July 29, 1978, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and they lived in Stillwater for a year before settling on a farm south of Braman. He engaged in farming and ranching operations his whole life and especially enjoyed running stocker cattle and helping his children raise show cattle. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blackwell, the Kay County Cattlemen's Association and the Blackwell Rural Water Board. He enjoyed attending livestock shows with his children and Oklahoma State basketball games. Other passions include watching his daughter play basketball and spending time with his family and his "Buddy" Balen.

He is survived by his wife, Terrie Grell of Braman; a son, Jared Grell and wife Annie of Braman; a daughter, Paige Tickel and husband Austin of Braman; a sister, Candace Kahle and husband Curtis of Oklahoma City; a grandson, Balen Grell of Braman; his father-in-law, Bill Burris of Muskogee; a sister-in-law, Cindy Keeling and husband Mac of Muskogee; a brother-in-law, Doug Burris and wife Stephanie of Arlington, Texas; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Arthur and Pearl Kelle and Richard and Edith Grell; and his mother-in-law, Velta Jo Burris.

Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 3rd in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blackwell with Rev. Ned Moerbe officiating. Burial will follow in the Braman Cemetery.

Serving as casketbearers will be Rick Grell, Craig Day, Robert Kelle, Bob Hedges, Brad Bechtel, Jim Stuever and Don Shoffner.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening, September 2nd from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
