Obituary

Marilyn Rader, 69, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Omaha, Nebraska.

She was born to Edman and Velma (House) Hampton, January 7, 1944, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She married Johnnie Rader on March 31, 1966, in Nardin, Oklahoma. They spent most of their years in Turpin, Oklahoma. After retiring, Marilyn relocated to Oklahoma City in 2004 and to Omaha in 2010.
Marilyn worked at the Perryton Equity Exchange grain elevator for 14 years and sold Avon out of the home for 25 years.

Marilyn was an avid reader, enjoying Bible reading, fiction and non-fiction books, newspapers, magazines, as well as reading online, keeping up with current events, email, and FaceBook. In addition to enjoying her favorite TV shows, she also enjoyed watching the online services of Christ Community Church of Omaha and also attended local services at Good Samaritan, as well as attending movies, musical performances, having her fingernails painted, group cooking events, and other activities.

Marilyn is survived by her sister Darlene Leclair of Ponca City, Oklahoma, three children: Patty Sthole of Winfield, Kansas; Troy Rader of Omaha, Nebraska; Ty Rader of Turpin, Oklahoma, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie, her son Travis, her brother Walter Lee, and both her parents, Edman and Velma Hampton.

A memorial service will be held on May 4th at 2:00PM at Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel, Blackwell, Oklahoma, with Rev. Chester Ward of Ponca City, Oklahoma, officiating.

A memorial in her honor has been established with the American Diabetes Association and the Good Samaritan Society of Millard c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
