Obituary
Marilyn Rae Hergenrader of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Thursday, May 03, 2012, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 71 years.
Marilyn Rae Hergenrader was born on June 2, 1940, in Brookings, Minnesota to Laurance and Carolyn (Balfany) Verry. She grew up in Chadron, Nebraska, attending Chadron Public Schools. Following her education she married Dale Banks in 1956 and they made their home in various towns. She later married Kenneth Hergenrader Sr. in 1965 in Mitchell, Nebraska, and they made their home there until moving to Lincoln, Nebraska. She worked in Lincoln at the Village Manor Nursing Home where she was and L.P.N. and later as a Registered Nurse after receiving her R.N. degree. She later worked for Mid America Web Press in various positions until her retirement when she began working as a night stocker at Wal-Mart. In 2006 she moved to Blackwell transferring to Wal-Mart in Ponca City and then to Wal-Mart in Blackwell in 2008. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting owl figurine's, going to flea markets, playing cards and loved spending time with her family and taking care of her animals.
She is survived by one daughter, Virginia Rutt and husband Ricky of Lincoln, Nebraska; three sons, John Banks of Groveland, California, Michael Banks of Blackwell, and Kenneth Hergenrader Jr. and wife Joleen of Blackwell; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Shade, Jeffery Rutt, Ashley Giambrone, Joshua Rutt, April Townley, Alycia Price, and Tyler Hergenrader; six great grandchildren, Anjelina Frederic, Blake Frederic, Cerenity Shade, Kodi Price, Justin Giambrone, and Maci Townley; and a sister, Jeanette Eichorn and husband Kenny; and her black lab, Little One.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Robert.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012, at the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with James W. Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Casketbearers are Joshua Rutt, Ericka Rutt, Zach Shade, Billy Frederic, Jeff Rutt, Joshua Price, and Tyler Hergenrader.
Honorary casketbearers are Leigh Ann Kroeller, Ricky Rutt, Mark Leever, Robbie Leever, Leland Leever, Kenny Eichorn, Linda Corning and Carolyn Kroeller.
A memorial has been established in her memory with the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for kidney research c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
