Marie Agnes (Shroyer)Thompson Davis of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died early Thursday morning, July 17, 2008, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital at the age of 84 years.
Marie Agnes (Shroyer) Thompson Davis was born on November 4, 1923, in Casper, Wyoming, to Walter and Rose (Lipskey) Shroyer. She grew up in Casper and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1943. She married Robert Todd in 1948. She later married William Glenn Thompson in 1951 and they made their home in Casper until 1954 when they moved to Mandan, North Dakota. At the time of their marriage each of them contributed three children to the union. In 1972 they moved to South Bend, Indiana, where her husband attended personal evangelism school. Members of the Church of Christ, together they worked for the Lord in Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota, and in Oklahoma after moving here in 1978. Her husband preceded her in death on July 16, 1991, in Blackwell. In 1994, she married Alva P. Davis in the Church of Christ in Blackwell. This union added three more children to Marie's family. Marie and Alva enjoyed several years together until his death on June 3, 2006. Following his death she continued to make Blackwell her home.
She is survived by four daughters, Jane Enyart, Lois Kalvoda and her husband Milo, Judy Burchfield and her husband Joe, and Donna Thompson; three sons, Thomas Thompson and his wife Connie, Carl Davis and his wife Betty Jo, and Keith Davis; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews including a very special niece, Pat Julian of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mildred Louise and Vivian Rose; two brothers, Roger and Raymond; a step-son, William Joseph Thompson; a step-daughter, Carol Davis Cook; and two grandchildren, Kevin Lee Thompson and Brenda Jean Kalvoda.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 21st, in the Blackwell Church of Christ with Lanny Jobe officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Larry Larimore, Randy Lenaburg, Gerald Mitchell, Shannon Richards, Mike Quirey and Jeff Stearns.
A memorial has been established at the Blackwell Church of Christ in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
