Marian Frances McMillioan of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died early Thursday morning, April 12, 2012, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell at the age of 92 years.
Marian Frances McMillioan was born on November 20, 1919, in Billings, Oklahoma, to Lewis Arthur and Anna Elizabeth (Barnett) Fitch. As a young girl she moved with her family to Blackwell where she grew up and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1938. She married Frank James McMillioan on January 15, 1940, in Wichita, Kansas, and they settled in Altus, Oklahoma, where she worked for the Salvation Army. In 1941 they moved to Seminole, Oklahoma, and she served her family as a homemaker. In 1945 they moved to Blackwell and she continued to raise her family and care for the home. Her husband preceded her in death in 1988 and she continued living in Blackwell. She enjoyed country music, gardening and flowers. She also enjoyed reading and writing poetry.
She is survived by a son, Clark McMillioan of Blackwell, Oklahoma; four daughters, Sondra Hackett of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Shirley Russell of Camarillo, California, Brenda Weeks of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Barbara Ailey of Ponca City, Oklahoma; a sister, Marjorie Nodine of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Arthur, Adrian and Glenn Fitch; three sisters, Gladys and Annalou Fitch and Merline Fultz; and a great grandson, Austin Grant Hockenbury.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2012, in the Blackwell Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Koch of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
The grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as honorary casketbearers.
A memorial has been established in her honor with Image Hospice in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
