Margaret Grace Frederick of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 96 years.

Margaret Grace Frederick was born on September 27, 1913, in Jackson County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Issac Sampson and Nettie Alice (McCoin) VanHooser. She grew up in Jackson County, Tennessee, attending Gainsburo Public Schools. The family relocated to Pontiac, Michigan in 1928. On January 27, 1934, she married Ray Scott Frederick in Pontiac, Michigan, and they made their home there. In 1950 she began working as a desk clerk for St. Joseph Hospital. In 1959 she began working for a Pediatric Physician and later returned to the hospital where she retired. On February 28, 1951, Ray preceded her in death and she continued to make Pontiac her home. She later moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma, to be near her daughters and later moved to Edmond, Oklahoma, for a short time she then moved to Blackwell, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Blackwell Church of Christ.

She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Purgett of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Barbara Shuart of Ponca City, Oklahoma; one sister, Netty Alice of Ohio; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Pamela Tiltman; six brothers; and four sisters.
