Lynn Eugene Courtney of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, January 5th, 2026, surrounded by loving family at the age of 65 years.
Lynn Eugene Courtney was born on November 7th, 1960, in Ruidoso, New Mexico, to Rodney and Dorris Brown Courtney. He grew up in Blackwell and attended Blackwell Public Schools. Upon graduation, he furthered his studies at NOC in Tonkawa.
Lynn spent his career as a trusted insurance professional in Blackwell, serving individuals, families, and businesses with integrity and care. As an insurance agent, he built lasting relationships with his clients, many of whom became friends. Beyond his professional life, Lynn was also a dedicated coach, mentoring young people and teaching the values of discipline, hard work, and perseverance.
Above all, Lynn was a devoted father and grandfather. His greatest joy came from time spent with his family. He especially cherished their many family trips to watch college wrestling. Those trips were some of his most treasured memories and reflected the pride he took in simply being together.
Lynn was known not only for his steady presence and giving heart, but also for his rambunctious spirit and larger-than-life personality. He loved being around people, telling stories, sharing a laugh, and enjoying a good time. Whether at a family gathering, a celebration with friends, or a night out, Lynn brought energy, humor, and warmth wherever he went. His joy for life was contagious, and he believed deeply in making memories and savoring each moment.
He is survived by his wife, Jacque Cable Courtney of Bartlesville; two sons, Shane Courtney and wife LaDanna of Tulsa; Cole Courtney of Edmond; four grandchildren, Daylon, Copelan, Everlei, and Cove; a sister, Connie Zelenka and husband LeRoy of Mustang; two brothers, Monty Courtney and wife Judy of Edmond, Les Courtney and wife Kim of Farmington, AR; one sister-in-law, Joyce Carruth Courtney of Blackwell, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rodney and Dorris Courtney, and brother, Martin Courtney.
