Lucille Love Dawson of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died early Friday morning, July 2, 2010, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital at the age of 95 years.

Lucille Love Dawson was born on January 6, 1915, in Risen, Arkansas, to John Franklin and C. T. (Cozad) Potts. As an infant she moved with her family to Terlton, Oklahoma, where she grew up and attended Ringwood Rural School. Following her education she began performing housework for various families. She married William S. "Bill" Dawson on September 20, 1934, in Cleveland, Oklahoma, and she settled in Cleveland while her husband served in the military. In 1950 they moved to Blackwell and she began working at the Blackwell General Hospital where she received her L.P.N. training graduating in 1953. She later became a surgical nurse and worked for the hospital until her retirement in 1966. Following her retirement they enjoyed camping throughout various parts of the country. Her husband preceded her in death on December 9, 1997, and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She was a member of The Tabernacle Church in Blackwell.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Magers of Blackwell, Oklahoma; her son, Harold Dawson of Branson, Missouri; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kenneth Dawson; four brothers; and six sisters.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 6th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Johnson and Rev. Cliff Johnson of The Tabernacle Church officiating. Burial is set for 2:30 p.m. in the Woodland Hills Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
