Lucerne M. Eberle of Blackwell, Oklahoma passed away August 4, 2009 in Stillwater, Oklahoma on her son's ranch at the age of 86 years.
Lucerne M. Eberle was born September 8, 1922 in Deer Creek, Oklahoma to Roy Virgil and Icy Pearl (Kerr) Northcutt. She grew up in Deer Creek and attended Deer Creek area schools and then Deer Creek High School. She married Bill Gene Goodman in 1941 and they lived in Montana and Idaho. In 1942 she moved to Deer Creek to live with her parents while her husband served in the military during WW II. Bill passed away while in the service. She later married Lawrence Harry Eberle on September 8, 1946 in Marion, Kansas. They settled in Deer Creek for a few months and then made their home on the family farm north of Deer Creek. Her husband preceded her in death on February 17, 1993 and she moved into Blackwell to make her home. She was a member of the Nardin Methodist Church but in later life she changed her membership to the First United Methodist Church in Blackwell. When she would visit her son in Stillwater, she attended Lakeview Church. She enjoyed her days of driving a school bus in the Grant County area for nine years. She loved to be in the company of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she also enjoyed the art of cooking.
She is survived by one son, C. Fred Eberle and his wife, Tommie of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one brother, Roy "Junior" Northcutt of Blackwell, Oklahoma; nine, grandchildren, Mark Goodman and his wife, Parapath of El Cajon, California, Troy Goodman of Phoenix, Arizona, Todd Goodman and his wife, Jo of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Shannon Goodman and his wife, Wendy of Phoenix, Arizona, Kelle Ko and Stacy of Lomita, California, Krista Valentine and her husband, Chris of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Kathy McNabb and her husband, Cameron of Perry, Oklahoma, Kimbra Roush and her husband, Kelly of Norman, Oklahoma, and Karrie Torrance and her husband, Mike of Kansas City, Missouri; thirteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and her fulltime caregiver for the last year, Karen Laweence.
She was also preceded in death by, her parents; one son, Billy F. Goodman; one great granddaughter, Kolby Goodman; and one brother, Dewey Northcutt.
Services are set for 2:00 p.m. Friday August 7, 2009, at the Nardin Methodist Church, of Nardin, Oklahoma, with Dr. David Chapman of Lakeview Church, Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Rev. Robert Foos of Nardin Methodist Church,officiating. Burial will follow in the Bayard Cemetery in Deer Creek, Oklahoma.
