Louis Madison Balliet of Newkirk, Oklahoma, died Saturday, January 23, 2012, at his residence in Newkirk, Oklahoma, at the age of 71 years.
Louis Madison Balliet was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma, on August 21, 1940, to Carl W. and Imildia (Foust) Balliet. He grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1959. At the age of sixteen he began working for the Blackwell Zinc Company. On August 31, 1972, he married Gail Engelking and they made their home in Newkirk for a short time before moving to numerous towns while working for various nursing homes. After he retired they moved back to Blackwell until October of 2011 when they returned to Newkirk. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Newkirk, Oklahoma. He enjoyed spending time with friends and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Balliet of Newkirk, Oklahoma; and one sister, Edith Rath of Blackwell, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
